Courtney Barnett, Opinions on Phoebe Bridgers & Twisted Teens
After Australian singer-songwriter Courtney Barnett released her 2015 album Sometimes I Sit and Think and Sometimes I Just Sit, she quickly became a top tier indie rock act. All of her skills were on display when Courtney Barnett joined hosts Jim DeRogatis and Greg Kot for an interview and intimate solo performance in front of an audience. Plus, the hosts review the new album from Phoebe Bridgers and Twisted Teens.
Phoebe Bridgers' third solo album, “Lost Weekend” is one of the most anticipated of the year. With a long list of producers and collaborators the album could be overstuffed, but somehow it's brilliant.

Twisted Teens appeared on host Greg Kot's midyear “Best Albums” list. Now they're back with another album- and reportedly working on a third. “Florida Water Blues” is a similarly brilliant effort, with a higher quotient of studio experimentation.
Courtney Barnett
Courtney Barnett is a mainstay in the indie rock world now, but in 2016 she was promoting her debut album when she did a Sound Opinions session at the Goose Island Tap Room in Chicago. She talks about her beginnings in Australian coffeehouses and performs solo versions of her songs on electric guitar.

Dear Listeners,
For more than 15 years, Sound Opinions was a production of WBEZ, Chicago's public radio station. Now that the show is independent, we're inviting you to join the band and lend a hand! We need your support more than ever because now we have to do all the behind-the-scenes work that WBEZ handled before (like buying insurance and paying for podcast hosting, ugh). Plus, we have some exciting ideas we'd like to try now that there's no one to tell us no!
Please consider becoming a Sound Opinions member by giving whatever you can via Patreon or with a one-time donation through PayPal. Thanks for listening, and thanks for your support!
