Margo Price, Plus Opinions on Robyn Hitchcock & Plains
Hosts Jim DeRogatis and Greg Kot welcome Margo Price back to the show to discuss her memoir, "Maybe We'll Make It." Since her first appearance in 2018, Price has recorded two albums, joined the board of Farm Aid and met almost all of her heroes. Plus, Jim and Greg review the new albums from Robyn Hitchcock and Plains, a new group from Waxahatchee and Jess Williamson.
Robyn Hitchcock's new album Shufflemania is at least his 22nd album since 1981. As longtime fans, Jim and Greg are both happy Hitchcock is back with his first new work in five years. They both agree it is among his best albums.
I Walked With You A WaysPlains
Plains is a new group made up of Katie Crutchfield of Waxahatchee and Jess Williamson. The two songwriters share a family history with country music and their album I Walked With You A Ways is a celebration of the genre. Greg enjoys hearing this side of the artists, but Jim finds it a bit of a place-holder album.
Margo Price
Margo Price made a big splash with her 2016 album, Midwest Farmer's Daughter on Jack White's Third Man Records. But, as she details in her first book Maybe We'll Make It, she was anything but an overnight success. Jim and Greg welcome Price back to the show with a wide-ranging interview that covers questions of what might have been and desperate schemes Price cooked up to get around music industry gate-keepers.

Dear Listeners,
For more than 15 years, Sound Opinions was a production of WBEZ, Chicago's public radio station. Now that the show is independent, we're inviting you to join the band and lend a hand! We need your support more than ever because now we have to do all the behind-the-scenes work that WBEZ handled before (like buying insurance and paying for podcast hosting, ugh). Plus, we have some exciting ideas we'd like to try now that there's no one to tell us no!
Please consider becoming a Sound Opinions member by giving whatever you can via Patreon or with a one-time donation through PayPal. Thanks for listening, and thanks for your support!
