Hosts Jim DeRogatis and Greg Kot review the album “Perceive Its Beauty, Acknowledge Its Grace” by jazz musician Shabaka. It’s a much more ambient record from the former leader of The Comet Is Coming and Sons of Kemet. It even includes a flute feature from André 3000.
The Past Is Still AliveHurray for The Riff Raff
Hosts Jim DeRogatis and Greg Kot review the album “The Past Is Still Alive” by Hurray for The Riff Raff. The album is a contender for best album of the year and features kaleidoscopic lyrics that reference singer-songwriter Alynda Segarra’s history as a runaway and environmental observer.
